Lucia Re is Professor of Italian Literature and Gender Studies at the University of California in Los Angeles.  She has published on modern and contemporary literature and culture, has translated works by Rosa Rosa and Amelia Rosselli and is one of the founders of the electronic interdisciplinary scholarly journal California Italian Studies, for which she co-edited (with Claudio Fogu) the volume Italy in the Mediterranean (2010).  She is working on a book on Italian modernism and Africa.
