Lessie Jo Frazier, American Studies, Indiana University

Global Sexology and Socialist Revolution the Chilean Way: Leftist Men's Sexual Ideologies and Practices

A lecture on political desire in the context of the Chilean Long Sixties (1960-73) that focuses on how political parties intensified the role of the family as an organizational unit, used romance as a tool for political party recruiting, and used the obligatory performance of the New Man's virility.  The coup's foreclosure of this erotic political economy has entailed lasting implications for socio-political practices.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is requested.  A light lunch will be served for those who register at least one week before the event.  To register, please click HERE.
