Kritik des reinen Judentums: Saul Aschers Confessio Judaica

Dr. GRAZYNA JUREWICZ, Assistant Professor at the Martin Buber Chair for Jewish Thought and Philosophy at the Goethe University Frankfurt, studied Jewish Studies, Philosophy, and Religious Studies in Potsdam, Prague, and Warsaw. In her doctoral thesis, she dealt with Moses Mendelssohn's concept of the "vocation of man". Dr. Jurewicz' research focuses on Jewish and German Enlightenment, Conceptual History, Philosophy of Religion (especially in the 18th and 19th century), and Edition Philology (she co-edited a two-volume collection of Mendelssohn's writings and contributed to several volumes of Martin Buber's collected works "Martin-Buber-Werkausgabe"). Currently, she is working on philosophical self-concepts of Judaism in the period between 1792 and 1880.

This event is free and open to all. For further information or accommodation needs, please contact the Department of German at 416-926-232.
