Transatlantic Celebrity, Theatrical Networks, and English-Canadian Actresses, 1890-1920

Professor Cecilia Morgan will be giving a paper entitled "Transatlantic Celebrity, Theatrical Networks, and English-Canadian Actresses, 1890-1920." Professor Morgan, a social and cultural historian at the University of Toronto, is the author of Creating Colonial Pasts: History, Memory, and Commemoration in Southern Ontario, 1860-1980 (2015) and ‘A Happy Holiday': English-Canadians and Transatlantic Tourism, 1870-1930 (2008). Her evening lecture draws from her current, SSHRC-funded research project, English-Canadian Actresses on Transnational and Imperial Stages, 1860s-1940s.
