Book Launch

Innis College, the Urban Studies Program and Innis One present a book launch and panel discussion on March 7th at Innis Town Hall featuring Shawn Micallef’s new book

Frontier City: Toronto on the Verge of Greatness.

In the book, Micallef shares stories and insights about our city by taking us through some of the vast wards that comprise Toronto. Through a series of walks with candidates running in the 2014 municipal election, Micallef articulates how the city is knitted together by people and politics. Micallef paints a picture of a city facing serious social, environmental and economic challenges – yet also poised to create an even more promising future.

The event will feature a presentation by Shawn Micallef followed by a panel discussion with: Alejandra Bravo (2014 Ward 17 Candidate), Keegan Henry-Mathieu (2014 Ward 7 Candidate), Jennifer Pagliaro (Toronto Star), and Shauna Brail (Urban Studies Program). A book signing and reception will follow.
