The Activist Cinema of Isaac Julien

From the Images Festival website:

“Images shines their International Artist Spotlight on London-based Isaac Julien’s earliest works, Who Killed Colin Roach? (1983) and Territories (1984). Before becoming one of Britain’s most celebrated artists and an international art world powerhouse, Isaac Julien began his career in the early 80s with the Sankofa Film and Video Collective. Formed in the aftermath of the Brixton Rising in an economically depressed South London between Metropolitan Police and the predominantly Afro-Caribbean residents.”

Tickets for this screening can be purchased online.

Images Festival runs at venues across the city April 20th to 27th.
