Ghettos during the Holocaust

A Symposium featuring

  • Samuel Kassow, Charles H. Northam Professor of History, Trinity College
  • Dan Michman, Chief Historian of Yad Veshem and Professor of Modern Jewish History and Chair of the Finkler Institute of Holocaust Research at Bar-Illan University

Professor Kassow will speak on his prize-winning book, Who Will Write Our History: Rediscovering a Hidden Archive from the Warsaw Ghetto, and Professor Michman will present from his new work on The Emergence of Jewish Ghettos During the Holocaust.  Responses from Anna Hajkova, Elizabeth Strauss, and Sylwia Szymanska-Smolkin, followed by discussion with the audience.

Acclaimed singer Mitch Smolkin will perform songs from the ghettos.
