The Office of the Dean of Students at Victoria University is pleased to invite you to our second annual Indigenous Conference, which is being held on Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23, 2018. 

CAMPUS (RE) CONCILIATIONS: SECOND LISTENINGS

Event Location: Alumni Hall, Old Vic

Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Friday, March 23, 2018, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

The goal of this conference is to discuss the role of the University in responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action, and to provide a space to learn about different worldviews from Indigenous community members. The conference will feature keynote speaker, John Borrows, the Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Law at the University of Victoria Law School in British Columbia , and panel discussions, with guests Sheila Cote-Meek the  Associate Vice-President, Academic & Indigenous Programs at Laurentian University and Rev. Evan Smith, Minister at Toronto Urban Native Ministry.    The second day of the conference will have an Indigenous Cultural Competency Training Session, and a closing ceremony. Lunch and a light breakfast will be provided for all attendees.
