The Barbarian Invasions & the Racialization of Art History

Eric Michaud is Director of Studies at the École des Hautes Études en Science Sociales in Paris.  He is author of Théâtre au Bauhaus (L’Age d’Homme, 1978), La fin du salut par l’image (Jacqueline Chambon, 1992), Un art de L’éternité. L’image et le temps du national-socialism (Gallimard, 1996; translated as The Cult of Art in Nazi Germany, Stanford, 2004), Fabrique de l’homme nouveau. De Léger à Mondrian (Carré, 1997), and Histoire de l’art, un discipline à ses frontiers (Hazan, 2005).
