 s pleased to present the S.J. Stubbs Lecture in Classics Masterclass with 
 Joy Connolly (President of the American Council of Learned Societies). Con
 nolly will set the stage by reviewing the calls in recent years to reconfi
 gure the current shape of the history of political thought from the ground
  up, with the goals of displacing Eurocentric narratives, sources, and 
 concerns and attending to a broadly inclusive, global array of experience
 s and knowledge practices, particularly knowledge from “below” and “outsi
 de” the conventional spaces of cultural production. What spatial, linguis
 tic, and theoretical coordinates might or will mark the f a new, reparat
 ive history of political thought? She'll invite the group to discuss the p
 ractical consequences of this turn for doctoral education, particularly g
 iven the challenges of finding academic employment these days.The mastercl
 ass will be held in person at the JHI. Seats are very limited for this opp
