Biography:
Having received my PhD at the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2011, I became a NRF Free-Standing Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Johannesburg (2012) and then an IASH Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Edinburgh (2013), before coming to Toronto.

What I'm Working On:
My thesis focused on philosophical nationalism and the very idea of national philosophies. Presently, I work on philosophy and translation, theories of linguistic justice, and the philosophical dimensions of English as a world language ('Anglobalisation'), an area of research that cuts across several disciplines, including philosophy, sociolinguistics, translation studies, and politics. My other philosophical interests include: philosophy and animals, philosophy and children, and philosophy and film. As a cinephile I love, in particular, the films of Ozu, Rohmer, Hawks, Kiarostami, and Oph?ls.
