Travels of the Lute Digital Pedagogical Resource
The Jackman Humanities Institute is pleased to announce the launch of
Travels of the Lute: A Digital Humanities Resource for Teaching and Learning World History
Travels of the Lute explores the movement of the musical instruments in the lute family through Europe, Asia and Africa in the middle ages and early modern period, using a wide range of videos, GIS mapping and other digital tools to bring history to life for students and teachers.
The Travels of the Lute project is the result of the work of the 2011-2012 Jackman Humanities Institute Working Group on "Travels of the Lute and Cultural Contacts in the Medieval and Early Modern World".
The new digital resource, Travels of the Lute, is available here: http://library.utm.utoronto.ca/travelsofthelute
