Description

Humanities graduate students, are you planning to apply for a postdoctoral fellowship? Would you like to hear from some U of T postdoctoral fellows about their experiences? The JHI invites you to a workshop that is designed to help you prepare competitive postdoctoral fellowship applications.

This online session will feature a roundtable discussion with Professor Semra Sevi (Department of Political Science), who is a previous Banting Fellowship recipient, Dr. Sophia Omokanye (Centre for Diaspora & Transnational Studies), who holds a Faculty of Arts & Science fellowship, Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Ketty Anyeko (Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies) and Dr. Felix Cowan (Department of History), who holds a SSHRC fellowship.

They will share tips and strategies for preparing an application that showcases their record of research excellence, presenting a compelling new research project, and finding a suitable postdoctoral supervisor. They will also share their professional experiences working as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto.

The workshop will also feature a presentation from Dr. Joel Rodgers (Coordinator, Graduate Student Professional Development, Arts & Science), who will share tips and best practices for preparing postdoctoral fellowship applications, along with other valuable information to support you with your next steps.
