When and Where

Monday, March 20, 2023 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Turtle Lounge
Centre for Indigenous Studies
563 Spadina Ave. Toronto, ON M5S 2J7

Description

This vigil will be an extension of the webinar that is taking place on March 20th from 12pm-2pm.

We understand that MMIGW2S is a source of great pain and trauma in our communities. That said, we also want to make space to resist narratives that present MMIWG2S-persons as somehow disposable and to respect the inherent dignity and sacredness of our kin. As such, we will be inviting vigil participants to share the good stories and inspirational stories about people in your life and the growth you have experienced.

We understand that speaking about this issue may provoke strong feelings. The U of T My Student Support Program (SSP) offers students 24-hour confidential support that can be accessed over the phone by calling 1.844.451.9700.Faculty, librarians, and staff can access confidential short-term counselling through the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). Contact Homewood Health at 1.800.663.1142 to access EFAP services.
