Description
The Frank Iacobucci Centre for Italian-Canadian Studies and the Department of Slavic Languages & Literatures invite you to an intercultural conversation between communities of Ukrainians and Italians in Canada! The online event will take place on March 9th at 5.15PM and is organized by the Indigenous-Italian-Canadian Connections Working Group.
What do our communities have in common?
How are our past and current relationships with Indigenous Nations similar or different?
What are our communities' responsibilities?
The event will feature Leah Hrycun, a Ukrainian-Canadian scholar pursuing research on the diverse stories of Indigenous and Ukrainian settler relationships, in conversation with Indigenous-Italian-Canadian Connections Working Group members Angela Nardozi, Ariana Magliocco, and Paolo Frascà.
The roundtable will be followed by a period of open discussion and reflection with audience members.
